I was supposed to be ready with the painting and the base this week but I have been slacking a bit to much. The major colors are there and the bases are somewhat ready but not at the point were I would be happy with it.<br />
The coming week will probably not be that productive, with some upcoming events and work.<br />
A picture of the current status, except bases are almost done.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8NZEJfttVCrXN8AEpEN5bg8aHPOGQIBy5J554JARR0QnxtHyoLHQNpikHXipr-Nj-fjZCEdfVhPHIZFBR2FccknoVcHiPpd43AzdVwgIJy8ukHtiNHqZiuDnUEKSZ_zZRJ5w9B77BWma-/s1600/DSC_0251.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8NZEJfttVCrXN8AEpEN5bg8aHPOGQIBy5J554JARR0QnxtHyoLHQNpikHXipr-Nj-fjZCEdfVhPHIZFBR2FccknoVcHiPpd43AzdVwgIJy8ukHtiNHqZiuDnUEKSZ_zZRJ5w9B77BWma-/s320/DSC_0251.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also gave oil washes a try, very interesting I have to say. The first guinea pigs were the Tiger family. Next will be the dreadnoughts, hopefully with a good result.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pUSnsaL7yUU/WA0b8L2LV7I/AAAAAAAAIdU/G8mHR-hZwoA1SGo2-I_B4Q97inpU369mgCPcB/s1600/DSC_0260.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pUSnsaL7yUU/WA0b8L2LV7I/AAAAAAAAIdU/G8mHR-hZwoA1SGo2-I_B4Q97inpU369mgCPcB/s320/DSC_0260.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
One of the dreadnought bases also got a treat of oil blending, a pleasant and interesting way of painting I think. There will be more of this in the future.<br />

It seemed like a perfect challenge for me since I have four Dreads that has been ignored for too long. So I will join up with two participants, one Death Company Furioso and one heavy equipped with a twin-linked lascannon.<br />
This week I picked them up and prepped a little bit, made the base for the heavy and glued some pieces together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ttW0_30bQ7Y/V_qNXnFAxkI/AAAAAAAAIcI/q2oc9UBJhQQci3HZwryaPhNYRkFHsrAGgCPcB/s1600/DSC_0235.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ttW0_30bQ7Y/V_qNXnFAxkI/AAAAAAAAIcI/q2oc9UBJhQQci3HZwryaPhNYRkFHsrAGgCPcB/s320/DSC_0235.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
I also managed to prime them, but I had all my masking tape in the other house so I could not prime the black parts on the heavy dread.<br />

This coming week they are supposed to have all the main areas painted.Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-80597445729162753302016-08-12T14:34:00.002-07:002016-08-12T14:34:52.578-07:00Apartment project doneSo, after almost four months our apartment is up for sale. Hopefully I'll have it sold soon so I can put that behind me. The add with some pictures on Hemnet: <a href="http://www.hemnet.se/bostad/bostadsratt-3rum-trosso-karlskrona-kommun-vastra-prinsgatan-20b-9669855">http://www.hemnet.se/bostad/bostadsratt-3rum-trosso-karlskrona-kommun-vastra-prinsgatan-20b-9669855</a><br />
We have also moved in to a new house, a bit empty at the moment since we have furniture in the apartment and in the old house that we are going to sell in the near future.<br />
I have a room that will be dedicated to hobby stuff in the new house but no desk at the moment so all the miniature projects are still packed, most of them at least. One box containing space marines, an old metal dreadnought and my Bushido guys had a small accident with the dread running rampage, molesting a bunch of marines and the snake samurais.Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-80394668497893075482016-06-30T11:43:00.002-07:002016-06-30T11:43:35.961-07:00Anglo-Danish warband finished<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Been a few weeks since they got finished but I have not had the energy to put up any pictures until now. I have been busy with a renovation project so not much time for painting at the moment. Soon I will move to another house so guess another two months of moving, painting and fixing the apartment and houses.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I really enjoyed painting them up, not like the repetitive work of painting Space Marines or US infantry.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">With these guys finished up I have put the Gebirgsjägers next in line, would be nice to finish them up some day. I have also been eye-balling an army for 28mm ACW and also Mordheim is an interesting game. But that will probably have to wait until autumn some time.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-58609742679535578612016-01-14T04:55:00.000-08:002016-01-14T04:55:02.018-08:00HistoricalsMy SAGA-minis are coming along quite nicely, one point of berserkers are almost done and also two points of Anglo-Danish warriors are getting there. They are highlighted and the next step is to add some scrathes on the shield and the metal parts.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NEKK5XB5jIQ/Vpa02pdqRII/AAAAAAAAIKA/l8GnEdJaxNI/s1600/DSC_0379.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NEKK5XB5jIQ/Vpa02pdqRII/AAAAAAAAIKA/l8GnEdJaxNI/s320/DSC_0379.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8zwaXVUhATs/Vpa05zD2jiI/AAAAAAAAIKA/KIM4XON4PDI/s1600/DSC_0380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8zwaXVUhATs/Vpa05zD2jiI/AAAAAAAAIKA/KIM4XON4PDI/s320/DSC_0380.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The berserkers are ready for basing, dirt and blood. I tried to do some green-stuffing on the guy with a head in his hand. He had a shield originally but the 'serks need no stinkin' shields!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LGptXAywYzM/Vpa08A3BsdI/AAAAAAAAIKA/gjhGzkcVWkw/s1600/DSC_0309.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LGptXAywYzM/Vpa08A3BsdI/AAAAAAAAIKA/gjhGzkcVWkw/s320/DSC_0309.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I also had to try to paint some of my Spanish for War&Empire (FoG, DBA and what ever). I think they came out OK, the shields are a bit askew but I don't think anyone will notice.<br />

But here goes, a platoon of Gebirgsjägers! Some WIP pictures and a shot of the finished platoon. I'm happy with how they came out.<br />

I really liked these sculpts, very good details. It would have been nice with some more action filled poses though, they are either very relaxed or firing.Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-75639649406329163922015-07-31T23:07:00.002-07:002015-07-31T23:07:58.648-07:00Baals to the wall<span style="font-size: x-small;">After quite some time now I have managed to get my three Baal Predators done, just in time to make it for the ending of E Tenebrae Lux IV.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">They will need some more details in some places but for now they are good.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">Up next, some SAGA Vikings maybe?</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-46239595982794809572015-06-17T23:04:00.000-07:002015-06-17T23:04:30.857-07:00New Arrivals: BA, SAGA and some blisters<span style="font-size: x-small;">The last batch of things from Waylands arrived today. Two rule boooks, SAGA and Bolt Action together with a blister of Gebirgsjägers, some static grass and the rest of the plastic bases for my terminators.</span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Finally!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">It will be nice to have two new books to read in the weekend, midsummer and all. SAGA has been interesting me for quite some time now but with the 6MMRPC running I won't be tempted to buy an army, yet. When the day comes I will get some sort of Viking/Anglo-Danish army and I plan to get a mounted army that can stand in as a Danish medieval army as well as Normans and some kind of crusaders. For this mounted army I have been looking at the <a href="http://fireforge-games.com/webstore?productsublayout=0">Fireforge plastic sets</a>, they seem to be really nice. And for the obsession with Danish armies, the place where I live has been Danish longer then it has been Swedish so I probably have some old ancestor with a red and white flag.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Last evening I also had some time to sit down and paint on my Predator hulls, they are coming along nicely and I really like the new air brush. Can't praise it enough.I managed to finish the black areas on two out of three hulls and touched up the turrets and the sponson mounted weapons. Masking takes quite some time with all the little fiddly places and in some spots the mask didn't cover properly and I got some over spray, probably not a big deal with some added battle damage and mud it will not show.</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

It took a lot longer then I first thought it would but who is in a rush?</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XbEUVj75HCg/VXqAwC5ZI0I/AAAAAAAAH-M/JjzQd5gL50I/s1600/IMG_20150611_233205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XbEUVj75HCg/VXqAwC5ZI0I/AAAAAAAAH-M/JjzQd5gL50I/s320/IMG_20150611_233205.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I think they came out pretty well, maybe it would have been nice to have more battle damage on them but they will do. They are gonna get some 40mm round bases so I can use them for normal 40k games too.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My birthday was last month and I got some cash from my parents and this got me a new air brush. After some reading and looking around I decided to get a Harder&Steenbeck Evolution. It seemed to be a good buy for the price.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bLnrY91VjlQ/VX3b_L-388I/AAAAAAAAH-k/fSi4Er9KrFk/s1600/IMG_20150612_192709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bLnrY91VjlQ/VX3b_L-388I/AAAAAAAAH-k/fSi4Er9KrFk/s320/IMG_20150612_192709.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My first victim was the Predator hulls that I have vowed for ETL4 and man, it is quite a brush compared to my old cheapo Chinese brush! The precision can't be compared and now I won't dread the moments of air brushing and I will probably get on with a bunch of projects which has been sitting for too long on the shelf.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">On the terrain side of things the boccage is coming along, I am currently doing the last detail work before flocking/grassing/boccaging(?) the pieces.</span></div>

Maybe a game fore midsummer is possible, just six months late.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Had some time Friday evening to paint the eyes on the Librarian and the Tyranid corpse, minus the guts. The Librarian still has to be given a nice grip for his force axe but then he is done (I think).</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-size: x-small;">On the terrain side of things I base coated and dry brushed the boccage pieces and the next step will be to pick out the stones before flocking and adding the actual foliage. I am pretty happy with the result so far and I hope to get a nice game of FoW in against some Fallschirmjägers hiding in the bushes.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">As the name implies, it is a challenge to do something about that mountain of lead, plastic and resin that keeps on growing like an Icelandic volcano.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">For me, this is a way to really do something about the little models, crying to get some nice paint on them instead of their grey, boring finish.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">This also lead me to <a href="http://admiraldrax.blogspot.se/2012/03/302-drax-presentsthe-painting-chart.html">Draxian Charts</a>, a nice visual way of organizing work in progress. I have been using Trello boards, which is good to organize and prioritize the work in progress but gives lesser overview of the goal when there are multiple parts for each unit in an army. Trello will still be there to keep down the ongoing work though and I will finish off the things I have in the later stages, for example I have a bunch of tanks that just have some decals and weathering left to do.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--aWuiCjuFZA/VW2FIr028zI/AAAAAAAAH70/DPi8Xr23ARo/s1600/Trello_150602.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="165" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--aWuiCjuFZA/VW2FIr028zI/AAAAAAAAH70/DPi8Xr23ARo/s320/Trello_150602.PNG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">But, let's get on with my Draxian charts!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dqgFd6uynFw/VW2Ik7xXQRI/AAAAAAAAH84/43sYQLLy7Oo/s1600/Flesh%2BTearers_150602.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dqgFd6uynFw/VW2Ik7xXQRI/AAAAAAAAH84/43sYQLLy7Oo/s320/Flesh%2BTearers_150602.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">For me the most important goal during these six months is to have more Flesh Tearers painted. Together with the E Tenebrae Lux it will hopefully keep my aim straight so I don't stray down the path of "I'll just start this one too". As you can see, I have a lot of work here. Baal Predators are currently in the pipe and after that it will probably be some Jump Pack Death Company.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vPvDuVfM8nA/VW2Ik_zGQMI/AAAAAAAAH8w/SaB7uv3TYzA/s1600/Totenkopf%2BPanzer%2BCompany_150602.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vPvDuVfM8nA/VW2Ik_zGQMI/AAAAAAAAH8w/SaB7uv3TYzA/s320/Totenkopf%2BPanzer%2BCompany_150602.png" width="200" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">In the Flames of War corner, we have both panzers and infantry. I have split them up in regards of armies.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">The Totenkopf/Panzer company is pretty much done. The King Tiger and Sturm Tigers are almost assembled and ready for some primer.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-he1dfREFvZM/VW2Ik3wwVbI/AAAAAAAAH80/CjSfvHyYOFQ/s1600/Gebirgsj%25C3%25A4ger_150602.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-he1dfREFvZM/VW2Ik3wwVbI/AAAAAAAAH80/CjSfvHyYOFQ/s320/Gebirgsj%25C3%25A4ger_150602.png" width="260" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My Gebirgsjägers are awaiting some new uniforms. Not much to say about them, they are not a huge force at the moment and will probably be around the 1000 points mark but they are not the highest priority.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I have yet to create charts for my terrain and my War&Empire armies but they are on the way.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-51799946663315344682015-05-01T08:48:00.003-07:002015-05-01T08:48:58.624-07:00E Tenebrae Lux IV<span style="font-size: x-small;">Over at the Bolter and Chainsword the "E Tenebrae Lux IV" has started, so I'm joining the Blood Angels forum with my Flesh Tearers. My first vow is to paint three Baal Predators. They have been sitting around for many years now and I pimped them with some more boxes, bags and stuff so the one with some paint has to be re-primed again.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">While junior was sleeping I was able to paint the eyes and some more highlights.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">What I have left now is the bare heads, bases, the Tyranid corpse. The librarian will need some more attention as I have painted him separately. I have also ordered some 40 mm bases and I will magnetize them so I can use them for both the Space Hulk game and for my Flesh Tearers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">When I'm done with them I will post some more pictures of both the marines and the Tyranids.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-90691514218242525002015-04-14T06:42:00.000-07:002015-04-14T06:48:35.140-07:00Gebirgsjäger research - Helmets and camo<span style="font-size: x-small;">As I want to try to depict my little lead dudes pretty close to history I like to do some research.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">When it comes to the Gebirgsjägers, I found them a bit dull and repetetive albeit very nicely sculpted with everyone wearing a field cap.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.ww2incolor.com/d/640751-3/2502brm3" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.ww2incolor.com/d/640751-3/2502brm3" height="320" width="223" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Most wide spread pictures of Heer-GJ shows them in their Bergmütze, but did they use it in combat too?</span><br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">So after several hours of Google-Fu, I came up with these conclusions:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Helmet is used in combat, exceptions are done in colder climates and mountain terrain.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">While marching, cap or bare head seem to be the preferred outfit.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Camo wind jackets, most probably not used by Heer-GJ.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Zelthbans are used in camouflage patterns.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;">The quality of the miniatures is really good and they have a lot of details (which might be a pain in the behind to paint but who cares).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I took a quick snap of the stretch goal characters yesterday, thirteen or fourteen warlord characters for the different armies. Guys like Caesar, Alexander and Darius III can be found here.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B-txlw5WsAAbWqF.jpg:large" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B-txlw5WsAAbWqF.jpg:large" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Hopefully I will have a unit or two painted up before summer, still have my Space Hulk terminators and Gebirgsjägers in the paint box.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-8550732999976626602015-02-23T03:33:00.003-08:002015-02-23T03:33:51.122-08:00New bits box<span style="font-size: x-small;">My always supportive wife happened to stumble upon a small toolbox when she was out shopping: <a href="https://www.jula.se/catalog/bygg-och-farg/forvaring/verktygs-smasaksforvaring/sortimentsskap/sortimentsskap-460056/">link</a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">This is perfect for keeping track of the WIP-bits and also to have some tools and paints on the go. Currently I have sorted up my Gebirgsjäger company and their leIG18/PaK38s. The small slots in the boxes are perfect to keep the teams in order and to keep track of who goes where.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8Uu7vz8tw-c/VOsPHwp-2qI/AAAAAAAAH4Q/_SOGAHZCFbg/s1600/DSC_0169.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8Uu7vz8tw-c/VOsPHwp-2qI/AAAAAAAAH4Q/_SOGAHZCFbg/s1600/DSC_0169.JPG" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">On the top of the box there is a small compartment which can old some bigger things, like a box or two of tanks.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3NSPNkDRFZQ/VOsPISVKz2I/AAAAAAAAH4U/AB2v4mGHetU/s1600/DSC_0171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3NSPNkDRFZQ/VOsPISVKz2I/AAAAAAAAH4U/AB2v4mGHetU/s1600/DSC_0171.JPG" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">The trays are handy and can hold paints, brushes and some tools, everything you need to clean, prepare and paint your minis.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uNHVZqisJZA/VOsPFU-v2OI/AAAAAAAAH4E/nkWsLAQR7EM/s1600/DSC_0168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uNHVZqisJZA/VOsPFU-v2OI/AAAAAAAAH4E/nkWsLAQR7EM/s1600/DSC_0168.JPG" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">With a handle on top it is also easy to carry it, for example when going to the mother-in-law for a day and you need to have something to do.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">So all-in-all I'm very happy with it and for around €20 I find it quite affordable.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-20946192535828290112015-01-04T10:38:00.003-08:002015-01-04T10:38:55.398-08:00Looking back at 2014<span style="font-size: x-small;">So what happened to my pile of plastic during 2014?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">My goals: <a href="http://wip-piw.blogspot.se/2014/01/2013-and-plans-for-2014.html">http://wip-piw.blogspot.se/2014/01/2013-and-plans-for-2014.html</a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I have been quite bad at blogging my progress, instead I have just taken some snapshots and tweeted it. If you wanna follow me on twitter, go here: <a href="https://twitter.com/makkeru">https://twitter.com/makkeru</a></span><br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Americans</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Tanks, transports, artillery, AA and recon finished. I got the Bridge at Remagen book, so I guess a box of Pershings might show up some day.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Germans</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Finished the Nebelwerfers, quite happy with them and it was fun to paint the crew.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;">I didn't get any grenadiers but a company of Gebirgjägers and my friends gave me a King Tiger for my birthday. And somehow a box of Sturm Tigers slipped in with the Blood Angels order.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;">There are still some decals and some weathering left on the Panzer IVs and Panthers, probably just a couple of evenings.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Flesh Tearers</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Oh, the horror pile! Nothing, not a single miniature got painted for my Flesh Tearers. I got hesitant to paint anything with the rumors about a new codex and I pushed everything to see what is viable, I even started to have a look at other chapters. With the release of the codex, I am happy that I waited. There will probably be some more Death Company marines in my force then I planned before.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Terrain</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Probably where I finished most things. Got trees built, hills, roads, a water mill and some ruins. My wife got me a bunch of 15mm houses from . I enjoy terrain building and I have some more plans for some ruins to get a better city table.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">War and Empire</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Nothing, the Kickstarter got delayed and I have not received the miniatures. They are on their way soon I guess, about 400 little Persians and Spaniards.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Bushido </span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />My Ito clan is finished, might get a game in next week even.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Other</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />I got four berserkers for SAGA for my birthday, haven't done anything on them.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />We had a Total War game, which I lost. Still good fun.</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />When the Space Hulk box was re-released, I got me a copy of that and I have started painting the Tyranids.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">So what will 2015 look like?</span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Space Hulk</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Probably my highest priority. The Tyranids are almost done and I should really make an effort to finish them up before the War & Empire miniatures show up.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Flesh Tearers</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Death Company and my Rhinos/Razorbacks should be manageable.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">War & Empire</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />No rules yet so I will probably just start with two, three units for each side.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">FoW Germans</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />I would like to paint the Gebirgsjäger company but the King Tiger and Sturm Tigers will be done first.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Terrain</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Some basic forests, maybe some city roads. Then fill out with more ruins. It would be awesome to get some 28mm terrain done but I won't keep my hopes high for this.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: x-small;">Bushido</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br />Not very high on the list but it is just a handful of miniatures and should be easy to squeeze in.</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">In a year we will see what I managed to finish up.</span>Makkehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07166088163501816618noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5209552274102732713.post-19420735411642351142014-10-27T14:03:00.001-07:002014-10-27T14:03:34.357-07:00Water mill finished<span style="font-size: x-small;">Last night I finished the water mill and it came out OK I think. The bridge is probably what I am the most happy with as it came to life with the washes and a bit of over growth. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Hauptsturmführer Ernst Braun, my trusty company commander, gladly did some posing in his Panzer III.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">On the "not so happy with" side:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">The roof came out to obviously made from cardboard</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Shading of the house could have been way lighter or had some kind of color, now it blends in to the bridge.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">If I go back later on and touch things up, the house will at least get a new roof.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>

<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I painted up the water, first attempt ever for me on water so it came out so-so but good enough to be put on the table without me being ashamed of it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B0qOhs2IcAA3vDR.jpg:large" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B0qOhs2IcAA3vDR.jpg:large" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-size: x-small;">For the house part some washes were added, the door and windows got some paint slapped on, but it seems the window frames will need another round of paint.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B0ytS3CCUAI1PLV.jpg:large" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B0ytS3CCUAI1PLV.jpg:large" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Next up is to fix the sand and add some vines, bushes and grass. Oh, I guess it might need a roof too. I'll probably take the quick way out and make some kind of tin roof.</span></div>

In the old spot I had a window next to my airbrush station and I never experienced any ill effects from airbrushing.</span><div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">So when I started up the compressor and went to town with the tanks in the weekend I totally forgot about the fumes and the side effects this might have. Later in the night I had the worst headache, slept bad and my eyes were paining. I even woke up in the middle of the night and had to clear my throat and clean my eyes.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">After this I went straight for the hardware store and got myself a protective mask and goggles, hopefully this will keep the fumes away from my lunges and brain.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Be careful out there, it's a dangerous place ;)</span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">My Shermans and HT transports got some decals, dirt and varnish and can now be added to the archive. I also found a Famo and a few Kubelwagens that needed some dirt and a varnish.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">Next up is the dreaded water mill which now has a deadline on the 9th of November, when we are going to play a Market Garden style game.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">It will be a nice addition to my German panzer forces, giving them some means to smoke evil observers and maybe been some infantry. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">The kit is quite nice except for one part, the front stand on the launchers that prevent them from tipping over. This little bugger has a tendency to fall off all the time and I just gave up and put them in some silly putty before the final assembly.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I decided to base them in a rubble setting, which will be theme for my German Totenkopf forces.</span><br />

Since we seldom (never) use the cinema room downstairs and she has started a PhD it seems like a good idea to turn my creative spot in the house to a more formal office. At the moment the office part is kind of drowning in hobby stuff.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">So I'll pack up my stuff and move it down stairs, it will be good I think to have all my stuff in one place.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Today I started building a new desk under the stairs, more of a functional table then an aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture.</span><br />
