So, after almost four months our apartment is up for sale. Hopefully I'll have it sold soon so I can put that behind me. The add with some pictures on Hemnet: http://www.hemnet.se/bostad/bostadsratt-3rum-trosso-karlskrona-kommun-vastra-prinsgatan-20b-9669855
We have also moved in to a new house, a bit empty at the moment since we have furniture in the apartment and in the old house that we are going to sell in the near future.
I have a room that will be dedicated to hobby stuff in the new house but no desk at the moment so all the miniature projects are still packed, most of them at least. One box containing space marines, an old metal dreadnought and my Bushido guys had a small accident with the dread running rampage, molesting a bunch of marines and the snake samurais.

The old switcheroo
With some recent changes in the family, me and the wifey decided that my old "man cave" has to move. Since we seldom (never) use the cinema room downstairs and she has started a PhD it seems like a good idea to turn my creative spot in the house to a more formal office. At the moment the office part is kind of drowning in hobby stuff.

Some projects and some games
Been busy times at home and here are some updates on what has been going on.
The office/hobby room has been redone. We have painted the walls, put up cabinets and built a better desk.
The room before, just a desk and no space to put aside anything. It looked really messy no matter what:
Fresh, tidy and orderly, meet the iRoom 2011:
I have had time for a few games of 40k, all of them 1000p games.
One game vs Orks, a foot slogging list with some Deffkoptas. I tried out some jumpy assaulters and a sanguinary guard. It was a five objectives game, spear head deployment. I smashed up the Orks pretty good and won.
The second game was versus a Tyranid force. I had some good luck with my shooting, routed a group of gaunts off the table and in the end it was down to a draw with both of us holding one objective each.
The third game was a guy at the local game club who threw together a quick list of Grey Knights. It started off quite OK, but then it went down the drain and I lost 5-2 in that dawn of war with kill points. GK are really mean in CC with all those power weapons. The shooting I can take with the FNP bubble, but those swords, ouch!
Some painting has been going on too, a shot of my Sanguinary Guard unit:
We had a game of Axis & Allies 1942, my first. I really enjoyed it even though I was on the losing side. It will probably be more of these nights coming up in the future.
And finally, the best project of them all: my self.
Me and my wife has changed our eating habits and work out habits a bit, I have now lost about 20 kilos, my wife about the same.
Here is a before-and-after picture of me (I don't think my wife would like to pose):

First projects for 2011 started
The first house project for the year has started, our office/hobby room is getting a face lift and some needed storage space.
We will put up some cabinets and shelves where we can put some things away, hidden behind some doors instead of being spread all over the desk. The old desk has been given away to my wife's brother, in it's place we will build a long desk along one of the walls with space for two instead of a big, curved desk taking half of the room.
On the miniature front, I have cleaned up and put together my Honour Guard, a squad of Vanguard Veterans, another Dreadnought, a Sanguinary Guard and some bikes. I have also converted some Melta guns from Bolters/Infernus Pistols.
On the way to finishing those 1000 points, I am trying out some NMM and glazing technique on my Librarian that I found on Youtube.
Tried to practice some steel NMM on a horse's ass. I am not sure if I got the shine correct, maybe the colors should have been switched. I also made some misstakes with the highlight (too much and thick paint in the bristles).

TV-room and some angels
During the summer it has been quite hectic, we have been working a lot to get the company started and prepare for Parisa's parents.
Some stuffs has happend at home though.
The "Persian room" has turned in to a more swedified tv-room.
My Flesh Tearers got them selves a Furioso Drednaught with a frag cannon (chopped up the multi-melta).
And some more assault marines and my death company is getting some color too.
I got a new air brush as a gift from Parisa's mom, but I have not yet tested it. I need to buy some more paint and some hose connections since the old ones did not fit.

The end of the kitchen renovation is getting closer
After some more waiting for the kitchen tops to to arrive, they are finally here!
This time the problematic one fit like a glove.
The combined fridge/freezer is also in place, serving us ice cubes for the friday gin&tonic.
All the tools and junk has been removed from the dining area. Maybe some BBQ in the garden from all the wood-junk tomorrow?
The stove does not get to rest much now, today's food is some spiced up gravy with cous cous.

Lack of internet
We lost our internet connection for about three weeks at home for some (yet) unknown reason. I tried to upload some pictures using the mobile but it was not successful.
Which was first, the chicken or the egg? In our case it was the egg.
We have cooked using the new stove for the first time and there were no chickens in sight.
The kitchen looks pretty much like a kitchen now, most of the cabinet doors and drawers are in place. The last ones will have to wait till we have painted the walls.
A major setback was the kitchen top which was 4 mm too wide but a new one is on the way and will arrive this upcoming Friday.
The enlarged door way has been primed and painted, as well as the walls
The oven and microwave has also been installed.

Wall tiles and water heating
Me and dad put up the wall tiles this weekend.
By the stove
By the sink
The coffe corner
The floor heating has also been connected, just waiting for the electricity to be connected and it will work a bit better I guess.
There has also been a major drawback, the countertop for the coffee corner did not fit. It was about 4 mm too wide. At the same time my phone broke down so I have not been able to continue the process with Ikea.

Small things
The floor was layed out and fixed up during the weekend, it looks quite nice when it is done I have to say.
The walls are pretty much done, some plaster and sanding left for them.
The quite meditative occupation of putting the cabinets together have started.
Some pictures of the current mess, just to sca... inform people what it might be like to do renovations. Which is often forgotten in all the home make over shows.
This is the combined shower and dish washing room.
Current kitchen, in the hall way. Nice with some sun, eh?
Hallway with bricks, quite clean and nice at the time of the photo. It looked more like a saw mill before.
Hallway towards the kitchen, with things littered all over.
Kitchen table can be seen somewhere under all the other thingies.

Another brick in the wall
Dad has been working hard the last few days getting the walls and the wine stand up.
The wine stand is made from brick pipes.
The almost final result.

A random bunch of updates
My day time work has started again, so the progress will slow down a bit.
The water pipe has been pressurized and no leaks were found. Happy, happy, joy, joy!
We have put up the wooden ceiling and painted it with foundation paint.
Parisa did a lovely job painting the little spots were twigs has been (no clue what they are called in English).
White foundation paint.
The bricks for the small wall that will be put up behind the counter and for the floor-to-ceiling-wall has arrived.
The beginning of the extra wall, where the oven/microwave oven will be placed later on. We have found clay pipes which will form a built-in wine stand in the corner as well.
The floor tiles has also arrived.
